A prospect who goes quiet is usually busy, not gone. Describe what happened and where the deal stalled, and get a spaced sequence of short follow-up emails that each give them a new reason to reply.
Add value, not pressure
'Just checking in' asks for attention without giving anything back. Each follow-up here brings something new: a relevant example, an answer to a likely concern, or a smaller next step that is easier to say yes to.
How to space follow-ups
A common rhythm is day 3, day 7 and day 14 after the last contact, widening the gap each time. The sequence suggests send days based on where the deal stalled.
The breakup email
A short, polite last email that says you'll stop reaching out often gets the reply the others didn't, even if the answer is 'not now'. Choose four emails to include one.
Start from a better first email
If the first message isn't landing, rewrite it with the Cold Email Generator and test new openings with the Email Subject Line Generator.
Questions
How long should I wait before following up?
Two to four business days after a cold email, and three to five days after sending a proposal, is a reasonable first gap.
How many times should I follow up with no response?
Three or four touches is typical. After that, send a closing email and move on until something changes.
Should the follow-up be in the same thread?
Usually yes, so the context sits right below it. The output notes when a new subject line makes more sense.
