Paste a sentence or a short paragraph, choose how much longer it should be, and this sentence expander rewrites it with added explanation, examples and transitions. It then lists what it added so you can keep, change or cut each part.
What it means to expand a sentence
Expanding is not the same as adding words. 'Remote work has changed communication' becomes longer and better when you say how it changed, give an example and explain why that matters. It becomes longer and worse when you write 'It is important to note that, in today's modern world'. The paragraph expander is told to add substance - reasons, examples, definitions, consequences and links between ideas - and to avoid filler.
Ways to make a paragraph longer
Writers usually develop a point in a handful of ways. Explain the why or the how behind the statement. Give one specific example. Define a term the reader may not know. Describe what follows from the point. Acknowledge a limit or a counterargument and answer it. Add a transition that connects the idea to the one before. A common pattern for a body paragraph in an essay is a topic sentence, evidence, explanation of the evidence and a closing link. Reading the 'What was added' list shows which of these the tool used.
No invented facts
The tool works only from the text you paste. It does not look anything up, and it is instructed not to make up statistics, quotes, studies or sources. When an added sentence makes a claim that needs support, it is marked [add source] so you can find a real reference or delete the sentence. Details only you know appear as placeholders in square brackets. Always replace or remove these markers before you submit or publish.
How to use the expander well
Start with a sentence that has a clear point; a vague sentence produces a vague paragraph. Choose the purpose, because an essay, a work email and a story grow in different ways. Pick 2x for a light touch and 3x or a full paragraph when you have only a topic sentence. Then edit: keep the additions that are true for your case and rewrite the rest in your own voice. For schoolwork, check your teacher's rules on AI help. The Passive Voice Checker can tidy the result, and the Essay Title Generator can name the finished piece.
Questions
Will it change my meaning?
It is told to keep your meaning, your point of view and the facts you gave. Read the expanded version against your original to make sure nothing has shifted.
How much text can I paste?
Up to 1,500 characters, which is roughly one long paragraph. The expanded version is capped at about 450 words.
What does [add source] mean?
It marks a sentence the tool added that states something as fact. Find a reliable source for it, or remove the sentence.
Can I use it to reach a word count for an essay?
It can help you develop thin paragraphs, but length alone rarely improves a grade. Use the added ideas as prompts, keep what you can support, and follow your school's policy on AI tools.
Is the sentence expander free?
Yes, it is free to use.
