Describe a monster in a few words, like a mossy swamp beast or a shy fluffy creature, pick a type, a style and a setting, and this AI monster generator draws an original creature for you: one clear monster, ready for a tabletop game, a story, a game idea, a Halloween post or a wallpaper.

How to make a monster with AI

1. Describe your monster: what it is, what it is made of and one detail that makes it memorable (glowing eyes, a coat of moss, horns of ice).
2. Pick a monster type, or leave it on Auto.
3. Pick a style and a setting.
4. Press Create my monster, then download it. Run it again for a new take on the same idea.

Monster types you can pick

Beasts are big horned creatures on four legs. Swamp creatures are slimy and dripping with pondweed. Golems are built from rock, moss or lava. Sea monsters rise from the water with long tentacles. Winged creatures rule the skies. Cute monsters are small, furry and friendly. Goblins and trolls are crafty tricksters, and Alien creatures look like nothing on Earth.

Styles and settings

Pick 3D render for a realistic, cinematic creature, Concept art or Dark fantasy for a painted game-design or bestiary feel, Cartoon, Anime, Storybook, Halloween or Pixel. For the setting choose a forest, a cave, the sea, the mountains or a castle, or Plain white when you want to cut the monster out for a token, a sticker or a slide.

Tips for a better monster

Give the monster a home: where it lives shapes how it looks (a cave monster gets pale skin and big eyes). Name the materials, such as scales, fur, bark, stone or ice. Add one or two signature details rather than a long list. Keep the setting simple so the monster stays the star. People use these designs for tabletop encounters and homebrew bestiaries, game and comic concept art, stories, Halloween posts, kids' drawing ideas and wallpapers.

Questions

What is an AI monster generator?

A tool that draws a new monster from a short text description. You say what the creature is and looks like, pick a type, a style and a setting, and the AI makes one original monster picture for you.

Will the monster be scary or gory?

It can be spooky, creepy or fierce, but the tool is asked to keep every picture family-friendly, with no gore or blood. For a friendly monster, pick Cute monster with the Cartoon or Storybook style.

Can I make a monster from a film or game?

The tool is asked to draw an original creature rather than copy one from a film, game, show or toy line. Describe the look you like in your own words, such as the shape, colours and materials, and it will make something new.

Can I get the monster on a transparent background?

Pick the Plain white setting, then run the image through the FastShot Background Remover to get a transparent version for tokens, stickers or slides.

Can I put a name or words on the monster?

This tool leaves text out so the design stays clean. Need a name for your creature? Try the FastShot Monster Name Generator, then add the name yourself in any editor.

Can I use the monster in my game or story?

Yes, you can download the image and use it for your tabletop sessions, stories, games, posts and school work. The tool is asked to draw an original design. If a result looks too close to a monster you know, run it again or add more of your own details.
