A storytelling bot that lets you choose what happens next

Some stories are better when the listener helps steer them. This storytelling bot asks who the story is for, builds an original tale around the hero and setting you pick, and stops at the end of each short chapter to ask what should happen next.

What the AI storyteller does

The bot starts with four quick questions: who the story is for and how old they are, the genre, a hero and a setting. From those it writes an original story in short chapters, using words and sentence lengths that suit the listener. A story for a five year old sounds different from a mystery for a teenager or a fantasy for an adult, and the bot adjusts.

How an interactive story works

Each chapter ends with two or three numbered choices, for example follow the map, ask the fox for help, or wait until morning. Reply with a number or type your own idea and the story bot continues from there. It keeps track of names, promises and clues from earlier chapters, so choices made at the start can matter at the end. You can ask for a recap at any time or ask it to wrap the story up in one final chapter.

Bedtime story mode

Ask for a bedtime story and the tone changes: slower pacing, gentle events, soft imagery and a peaceful ending. Bedtime stories are kept short so they fit into a few minutes of reading aloud, and they end without a cliffhanger. Tell the bot a favourite animal, toy or place and it will work that into the tale.

Tips for a better story

Details make the difference. Give the hero one strong trait and one small flaw, such as a brave knight who is afraid of frogs. Name the setting and one thing that is unusual about it. Say what mood you want: funny, cosy, spooky-but-safe or exciting. If you need a name first, the Character Name Generator can help, and the Fanfiction Generator is there for one-off story drafts.

Original and family-friendly

Every story uses original characters and plots. The bot does not reproduce copyrighted books or films, and it keeps content suitable for all ages: no sexual content and no graphic violence. Danger in a story stays mild and is resolved kindly.

FAQ

Is the storytelling bot free?

Yes, it is free to use. Open the chat and ask for a story.

What ages is it suitable for?

Stories are family-friendly at every setting. Give the listener's age and the bot matches vocabulary, length and themes. Young children should use it with a parent or carer reading along.

Can it continue a story I have started?

Yes. Paste or summarise what you have so far and say where you want it to go. The bot picks up the characters and tone and carries on in chapters.

Can it tell a story about a famous character from a book or film?

It does not retell or copy copyrighted stories. It can write an original story in a similar spirit, such as a young wizard at a school of its own invention.

How long is each story?

Chapters run to roughly 120 to 200 words. An interactive story lasts as many chapters as you like, and a bedtime story is usually finished in a few short chapters.
